  4. If you like I can take a picture of our local cement factory, that might help ;-)

I remember feeling exactly the same way about the UK when I lived in the US. You've reminded me I need to make more of the beauty around here.

  5. those are beautiful photos. really they are. would make anyone want to be *there*. But actually... it's cold (max 10C during the day) and wet (there's been a lot of flooding down south) and today we are expecting windspeeds of 51mph. In MAY!

And I'm not in the wilds of the Highlands either!

  11. I just discovered you, seriously, less than a minute ago. I too am so homesick. I have been in Colorado for 7 years and 5 months and haven't been back since Jan 2010. I've had a second baby since then. I want to move back to the UK so much I think about it all the time. But in the meanwhile I'm going back to visit in September. I hope you get to go back home soon too.

  14. Glad you get to go for a visit!

I've been here for 10 years and I haven't visited the UK since the fall of 2003 - before I had my 3 kids. It's been a loooooooong time. :(

  15. Thank you for the beautiful photo post:)- I've visited twice- and now I'm wishing I could be there. The view of Port Isaac- looks like where they film "Doc Martin" ?? My daughter spent a year at as an exchange student at Newcastle university and I think she would do anything to go back-without a doubt she would say its where she is happiest. Enjoy your visit home- will await your return posts. I really enjoy your blog- want to try my hand at a pear pincushion soon:)

  16. Now I feel home sick. Twice as bad. I lived in the UK most of my life and haven't been back in the last 16 years. I'm actually Spanish so I miss there also although I was there last summer visiting family. Thanks for the reminder. I love Dovedale.
