Hi

When a blogger put a picture up of herself recently, I thought to myself how it is nice to see the person behind the blog - and then felt guilty as I have been avoiding putting up my own picture. I'm usually behind the camera and when I do get trapped in front of a lens, the results usually further my belief that I'm not photogenic (yes, I am that person at the back ruining the family photos). It took some searching to find, well, any recent pictures of me, let alone a good one, but here you go. This is me.
I'll still be avoiding showing my kids' faces, as they are just the innocent victims of my crafting and I want them to still be willing to talk to me when they are teenagers.
.
Ok, that's enough procrastinating. I had better get back to doing the taxes...,

  1. Well hello there. How nice to see you! (I only recently dared show my face at new year!). Rubbish about you not being photogenic though....

  4. On the one hand, I love that you've put up this picture of yourself. You look lovely! On the other hand, it is now making me feel guilty for avoiding putting up pictures of myself. Haha. Have a great weekend! :)

  5. Well, I'm not going to put up the photographic proof of my claim - there's a reason why the only decent pic I could find is one of me wearing sunglasses...

  6. You're not unphotogenic at all! You look very cool!
My poor children don't get the same treatment - you're very kind. They're models on my shop too, for want of a budget!

  8. Ha ha ha! I know how you feel. I was always the person behind the lens, my dad and I used to jostle for this favoured position until I met my boy. Now there seem to be so many photos of me milling about it's frightening. I hate the majority of my photos. Unless I have time to think how I want to look before the shit is taken, they look awful. I am not a snap shot friendly person.
The photo you have chosen on the other hand is great! Good choice.

  9. haha I know the feeling well.. I'm not photogenic either love, nevermind.. we can't all be perfect can we?

I post my kids pics on my blog all the time.. I think it'll probably be quieter if they don't want to talk to me when they're teenagers.. it'll be cheaper too no doubt lol.

  12. Nice to see you and what a glamourous pic too - I love black and white photos - they seem to capture a moment well.

  13. There you are!
I know what you mean though. Thanks for sharing the photo. I need to get a new one up myself.

  14. Good to see you! My dad is the one that messes up the family photos in our family...it's his crazy pasted-on smile that does it. We call it the cheeseburger smile. But you, my dear, have a lovely smile with lovely teeth (something I notice in others since I had to wear braces for 8 years) and I'm sure you have lovely eyes under those glasses as well.

  15. Great photo! I only recently got around to putting a photo on my profile. Like you, I had trouble finding a recent one I was willing to share that didn't include my daughter's face. As it was, I had to crop her out!

  18. Very nice to see you! You know, my mom is not photogenic at all, it's almost impossible to get a good shot of her, and it has always been that way. However, she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever known (and believe me, it's not just me, I remember walking with her down the street in my early twenties and not getting ANY attention).
I have a feeling you're not that different.

  21. I had to redo my comment- made a typo. I've been enjoying your blog for about a year now. I would like to steal your pose and sunglasses (and photographer)...in fact you may have started a trend...imagine if all the bloggers put up their version of this photo! My eldest took some photos of me over the weekend, I must now go on a diet and back out of rooms as my rearend has grown so!
I can't help but share my kids on my blog, I also enjoy your translations. I have been known to hand a printed list of words and meanings, to clueless teachers. We are Australian. Kids here were mystified by my offers of sultanas and biscuits.

You are gorgeous - super smile, and absolutely lovely! So stop already with the "not photogenic" bit. :)

  24. Hi Dawn, so nice to 'meet' you! Great glam shot! : )
I know I really should do it too, I love to see who I'm talking to so it only seems fair really... but finding a shot... now that's tricky. : )
